• The first little black dress, with assymetric shoulder was one of the finalists at the PACC "little black dress" challenge, Nov 06. Double Wool knit with venice silver/black lace.
• Corselet of silk shantung covered with ruched black silk chiffon. The 10 gore skirt, flared from the knee, hugs the body and then let leave enough room to dance. The skirt is made of silk shantung and the ensemble has lining of silk crepe de chine.

"Boutis" embellished day ensemble: Made entirely with silk (silk doupioni and godet with silk chiffon). This ensemble was one of the finalists of the Doupioni contest with Sew News and CME Magazines, and presented in the American Sewing Expo, MI, October 2004.

The top and skirt are embellished flower motif made by "boutis"; particular French Provencal technique of Trapunto, entirely executed by hand.

• Soft wool jacket and coat quilted with silk charmeuse. Typical French construction (fisrt Jacket and last coat).
• Tailored wool coat, silk lining and matching wool pants.
• Blue print silk dress with light silk jacket.

Process:

The process takes three to five months to completion, with a consultation and four to five fitting sessions.

During the consultation, the client and dressmaker meet for the first time to discuss design style and price estimation. A fee of $30 is charged for a simple consultation. This fee will be deducted from the payment of the ordered garment.

At the first session, all measurements are taken and the design style is defined. During the second session a body shell (moulage) will be fitted, and the final design of the garment is chosen. Swatches of fabric, trims, and details are discussed and decided.

The garment will first be fitted in muslin before fashion fabric. The number of fittings will depend on the complexity of the design.

Policies:

One third of the price estimated of the garment is due at the first fitting, another third at the second to last fitting, and the remainder at the delivery of the garment.

A minimum additional charge of 15% of the cost of the garment is required for rush orders. This would be less than 2 months for wedding or event dresses.
